MGR is a combination of diverse engineering skills and experience.
Mike Retford (Sales & Engineering Director)
Mike graduated in 1991 from Bath University with an MSc in Fluid Power Systems and has spent his career engineering fluid systems ever since. He then spent 6 years looking after hydraulic systems at British Steel, while gaining Chartered Mechanical Engineer status. Mike joined Commercial Hydraulics in 1997 as a project manager responsible for hydraulic test machines and other industrial systems; in 2000 Parker Hannifin bought out Commercial and Mike became manager of the industrial systems business. In 2007 Mike set up MGR Fluid Power, providing hydraulic services to the aerospace, defence and general industrial markets. Mike manages the business and provides in-depth hydraulic consultancy and training services. He has BOSIET certification for offshore help and support.
Lisa Retford (Finance Manager)
Lisa has held various positions in banking and local government. Her previous position, for HSBC Bank, means that she is well placed to manage the finances of MGR Fluid Power.
Rob Allsop (Service Engineer)
Rob is a very capable Service Engineer having spent a number of years working with Hymid and Tidyco. Rob brings fault finding, system maintenance and installation skills to the MGR business.
Tom Allsop (Service Engineer)
Tom is a very experienced plant fitter and brings mobile hydraulic servicing experience to MGR Fluid Power.
Darren Newbery (Sales & Support)
Darren has joined the team to provide us with much needed administration support, and his knowledge of the hydraulics industry is a useful asset to the company and to our customers.
